General description of the collection: The Ronald Boyer collection of Civil War papers include correspondence, diaries and other papers centering around veterans from the vicinity of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. Correspondence and/or diaries are found for the Bain family (which includes George Bain, James Bain and W.C. Bain), Henry A Bibighaus, Henry F. Charles, the Henry family (which includes Adam and Isaiah and George Henry), John D. Musser, Reuben Smeck, Charles Weirick and Jonah Yoder. Several miscellaneous papers include correspondence of William Beaver, Charles H. Clark and William Rufus Noble. These papers include references to the 33rd Pennsylvania Militia Regiment at Carlisle and Hagerstown during the Gettysburg Campaign, description of affairs on the Peninsula with a map and photograph of Fort Monroe and the 203rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment awaiting transferr from the Bermuda Hundred to Fort Fisher on February 4, 1865.
